Biosphere is the main recording name of Geir Jenssen (born 1962), a Norwegian musician who has released a notable catalogue of ambient electronic music. He is well known for his “ambient techno” and “arctic ambient” styles, his use of music loops, and peculiar samples from sci-fi sources. His track “Novelty Waves” was used for the 1995 campaign of Levi’s. His 1997 album Substrata is generally seen as one of the all time classic ambient albums.
“Everyone in Germany knows those little yellow Reclam books. To re-fascinate pupils and students for Reclam, we’ve created a micro-site to present this ‘heavy fare’ in an easily digestible shape: http://www.literaturdoener.de. On this completely with Processing built website there are quotes rotating instead of the well-known meat spits. The visitors can experience the literary components by different features, and of course buy those books.”
